  Wellness, Mental & Physical 
      Attitudes, body- mind therapies and practices affect human physiology profoundly. Its a relationship that can uplift or stymie wellness. That's the principle and purpose of working with the mind to improve health.

          De- stressing and mind- body work aid the body's own ability to heal itself, but be wary of the notion that one's search for health will then be ended. To believe that bears the risk of being lulled into complacency, hiding in the happy ignorance of what may be still be missing for a well- grounded wellness.

      As medical and alternative modalities continue to fail the health of millions, you'll see yet more claims of the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of mind-body work.  It is a lucrative and growing field. Some of its  offerings are clearly on the “fringe” or even built of outright fantasy, while other methods are sincerely helpful. The more complex the method the more credible it may seem to some, and that is surely foolishness. 
        The “soup” of remedies, practitioners and treatments clutters the health field, confusing consumers and making it ever more difficult to ever find what's true.  Simple, singularly effective truths of health, found for free in nature, today go largely unattended.
Biocology(SM) does not aspire as top runner in the race to cures and popularity.  Instead, we offer a re- education, avoiding so- called "cures", hype and the short- lived promises of various quick fixes.  Nature's wisdom calls for knowledge not sophistication, healthy action and restraint, all of which are not as popular as they once were.

  Health Denial
       Some 90% of obese people don't identify themselves as obese or unhealthy, or even believe they're all that overweight.  Everyone wants to think they're healthy and most of us who have health issues never see them coming.  If Americans compare themselves to their neighbors (who in fact are VERY ill)* no wonder they think they're much healthier than they really are!  It may be in the nature of the human ego that most of us have felt comforted in at least some degree of health denial.  To investigate the true record may present a tougher road, perhaps a questioning, re-learning or re- shaping of old and cherished ways.
           What we do or don't do with our minds and bodies, our healthy or unhealthy inputs are of inescapable importance to our wellness.  Just as gravity will not change itself to meet the will to fly by jumping off a cliff, there are certain laws of life that do not bend to fit our notions.  Whether we’ve been partially informed or misinformed entirely, we pay a price for misdirection.

     The Most Valuable Mind -Body Tool
        No body- mind practice alone can be a cure-all, nor can any method suffice for health without knowledge and instruction from the vital needs and dictates of the laws of physiology. That understanding is the most important key to health. And yet it can't be done without the open mind. 
      The Open Mind moves beyond denial and the clinging of wanting things to be the way what yo want them, rather than seeing things the way they are. For many of us, getting there can take a serious re-working of the attitudes and a waking up to the realities of life. Its been called working with the ego-- or in one word, perhaps this is humility.  This is, in fact, is the most beneficial body- mind undertaking for health and wellness and perhaps for all of life, The more of this you have, the more you then are able to avail yourself of healthy learning unconstrained by what you think you know.
